Black Diamond Resort Co is currently accepting applications for the 2006 summer season!

We have a very unique and fun business and are looking for adventurous, motivated people to join our team. We hire approximately 55 people each summer. We have a 70 seat fast paced restaurant, a 9 hole golf course, 18 hole mini golf course, a horse drawn covered wagon ride, and guided ATV tours. We have a very exciting business with a great working environment!

We offer competitive wages, inexpensive housing, meal plans, a variety of jobs, and performance bonuses!

TRAINING
We do all of our training and it is paid.

WAGES
We are busy all the time and you always get to work! You have the choice of
an 8-10 hour a day, 5 days a week or 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week with
this position. Overtime is available

PERKS
I think we have a lot of perks! First of all, our business if fun! Our
guests are coming to our place for just a few hours and they are on vacation
and happy and having fun! They come in a good mood and leave in an even
better one! The atmosphere is awesome. Part of your job is dealing with
the few who are not so happy! But we give you the power to run with it and
make the guest happy!

A lot of our perks are in the realm of after work, things to do when you are
off to make the summer great! After all, the money is not super good so you
must be coming to Alaska, yes to pay the bills but mostly for the
experience! We have great comradery with our staff! We are small enough
that every person is important and a great part of our team but large enough
that there is some variety in who you can hang out with and do different
things with such as using all of our facilities, we do golf tournaments, ATV
trips, You can always go on the covered wagon tour and play mini golf. We
also can arrange for free sightseeing tours, dinner shows, rafting,
horseback riding, fishing, and more! My dad is an avid fisherman and is
just looking for people to go with him on his trips..... he is a bit crazy
but a ton of fun! There is world class hiking around our place and you can
literally leave from our housing! The mountains are spectacular, sun sets
to die for, and we are right on the lake and when the northern lights come
out, it is fantastic! We run a restaurant so of course we have a few big
time partiers so practically any night of the week you can join them
whenever they end up whether it is at the camp fire, at the bar, or on one
of the notorious camping trips! I have yet to experience this and will
probably pass on it next summer! Ha!

We also do a fantastic beginning of season party and end of season party.

I would say our housing is a perk! It is not fancy, in fact it is very
basic, but it is cheap and close to our business! It is a great experience
and you will never forget meeting and working with people from literally all
over the world!

Our bonus structure is as follows:

Exemplary Employee Bonus (95% scheduled shifts, 95% on time attendance, no
specific day of the week request ie Sat/Sun, on two time off requests)

EXPENSES

Rent for the summer is $1325
If you eat two meals a day at BD including the days you are off (which you
wont do because our housing has full kitchens) $1025
It is probably about $400 each way to Alaska if you drive and $600 roundtrip
if you fly

I actually try pretty hard not to over sell our place. There are things
that are hard about it.

For instance:
-it is very busy, numbers change on a dime and it can be frustrating.
-It can be cold, wet, dry, dusty, hot, rainy........ the weather is very
unpredictable
-it can also be a challenge to live and work with total strangers for 5
months. It can also be totally awesome. I have met some fantastic friends
over the years!
-I make mistakes, but I try very hard to be honest, reliable, fair, and
interested in solving issues the minute they arise!
-we are a young company and are still working on a lot of our policies and
procedure so we are not as organized as a large corporation but on the other
hand that is why a lot of our staff likes to work for us.... we are a small
company and each person is important to us
